CLEO FERN BENNETT, daughter of Robert and Edna McFall Burns, was born April 23, 1925, in Phillipsburg, Missouri and departed this life May 18, 2013, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of eighty-eight years.

Cleo made a profession of faith at a young age and at the time of her passing, was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church.

She spent her childhood in the Phillipsburg area, where she attended school. She made friends easily and stayed in contact with many of them through the years.

Cleo attended Cosmetology school in Kansas City, Missouri, where she met the love of her life, Robert Russell Bennett. They were married on February 25, 1946. Robert preceded her in death.

After living in the Kansas City area for a while, they moved to California, and eventually back to the Phillipsburg, Missouri community, where Cleo successfully owned and operated a beauty shop in her home for many years. The clients she had through the years not only appreciated her professionalism, but treasured her friendship. In 1980, Cleo moved to Springfield, Missouri, where she remained.

Cleo had a variety of hobbies. She enjoyed crafts, sewing and gardening. However, nothing compared to the time spent and memories made with her family, especially her grandchildren. They were most important to her.

She is survived by one son, James Bennett of Springfield, MO; one daughter, Diane Epley and her husband Randy of Springfield, MO; one sister, Bonnie Bernier, also of Springfield, MO; three grandchildren, Shawn Epley and his wife Katie stationed in Vincenza, Italy, Brendan Epley and Tanner Bennett, both Springfield, MO; other relatives and many friends.

Cleo was also preceded in death by her parents; and one sister Betty Bishop.

She was a loving mother, cherished sister, loving grandmother and loyal friend. Those who had the pleasure of knowing her will forever be grateful. She will be greatly missed.
