MATTHEW ALEXANDER BANKSTON, son of Rubben and Rebecca Bankston Hudson, was born October 11, 1989, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and departed this life March 7, 2013, also in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of twenty-three years.
Matthew graduated from Lebanon High School in 2008. He had many close friends and was loved by everyone. His friends appreciated his sense of humor and positive outlook on life.
He enjoyed a variety of hobbies. He was passionate about music of all types and enjoyed watching movies. He also appreciated a healthy debate about politics and developed his own arguable opinions. He enjoyed working out to better himself, and had great pride in the strength he had developed through the years. However, his greatest love and life accomplishment was Elliott, his son. He loved every minute of every day that they had to share together. He was a wonderful father and took excellent care of Elliott.
Matthew is survived by his parents, Rubben and Rebecca Bankston Hudson; his girlfriend, and mother of their son, Kristen Davis; one son, Elliott Bankston; two brothers, Tommy Hudson and Nathaniel Haney, of the home; three sisters, Emily Good and her husband Daniel of Springfield, MO, Victoria Dailing and her husband Payton of Stoutland, MO, and Crystal Deckard and her husband Cody of Lebanon, MO; one niece, Regan; eight nephews, Isiaiah, Joshua, Jordan, Andrew, William, Tristen, Creedon, and Kainen; two grandmothers, Judith Bankston of Beggs, OK, and Vada Hudson, of the home; many aunts, uncles cousins, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his best friend, Zach Jones.
Matthew had an unmatched zest for life, and ability to overcome life’s obstacles. He was a devoted father, and adored by his family and friends. Those who had the pleasure of knowing him will forever be changed. Our loss was Heaven’s gain.
