LILLY DEVOA DECKER, daughter of James Franklin “Bud” and Annie Leora “Crickett” Emmerson Bennett, was born October 28, 1918, in Wright County, Missouri and departed this life December 4, 2012, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of ninety-four years.
On September 27, 1937, she was united in marriage with Wilbur Lee Decker and to this union was born nine children. Lee preceded her in death.
Although Lilly was a devoted wife and mother through the years, keeping up with household chores and caring for the children, she also had a variety of hobbies. In fact, she stayed very active until the age of eighty-nine years, when her health began to fade.
In younger years, she enjoyed hunting and fishing. She also enjoyed quilting, crocheting, walking, and tending to her garden. Most recently, she enjoyed reading. However, nothing compared to the time spent and memories made with her family. They were most important to her.
Lilly is survived by six sons, James and his wife Linda, Sammy and his wife Shirley, and Lonnie Decker, all of Lebanon, MO, Darrell and his wife Karrin of Covington, WA, Ronnie of Mountain Grove, MO, and Ricky Decker and his wife Claudette of Monroe, GA; one daughter, Susie Wood and her husband Lee Wayne of Lebanon; one sister, Ruby Bohannon also of Lebanon, MO; twenty-one grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; fourteen step-great-grandchildren; twenty-eight step great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
She was also preceded in death by two sons, Garry “Ray” Decker and Clifford “Junior” Decker; six brothers, Jake, Jeff, Earl, Calvin, Dallas and Bob Bennett; and four sisters, Ida Lewis, Vandaly Williams, Thelma Massey and Moira Bennett.
Lilly was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Those who had the pleasure of knowing her will treasure every memory. Our loss was Heaven’s gain.
